1. Who we are

Talyme Technologies Ltd ("Talyme", "we", "us", "our") is a Kenyan limited company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. We are the data controller for personal data we collect about visitors to our website and clients of our ICT services.

2. Information we collect

• Information you give us — your name, business email, phone number, organisation, role, and the contents of any enquiry or proposal request.
• Technical information — IP address, browser type, device characteristics, referring URL, pages visited and time spent.
• Service delivery data — information needed to design, install and support ICT systems (network diagrams, asset inventories, incident logs).

3. Why we use your data (lawful bases)

• To deliver the services you have engaged us for (contract).
• To respond to enquiries, send proposals and provide quotes (legitimate interests / pre-contract).
• To send service announcements or technical notices (legitimate interests).
• To send marketing communications where you have opted in (consent).
• To comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations (legal obligation).

4. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Client engagement records are typically retained for 7 years after the end of an engagement (in line with Kenyan tax requirements). Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your data. We share it only with: vetted sub-processors (e.g. email, hosting, CRM) bound by written data-processing agreements; auditors and professional advisers; and competent authorities where legally required.

6. International transfers

Where data leaves Kenya (e.g. cloud-hosted email or analytics in the EU or US), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — including standard contractual clauses and adequacy assessments.

7. Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; object to processing; restrict processing; data portability; and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

8. Security

We apply encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest for sensitive data, role-based access controls, least-privilege principles, multi-factor authentication on all administrator accounts, and quarterly access reviews.

9. Children

Our services are aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 18.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on this page and, where appropriate, by direct communication.
